The Farm

As I am sure many of you know, my patient and friend, Llewella Day, left me her property, a five hundred plus acre farm, in the town of Ira Vermont, after she passed in January of 2001. It took three and a half years and lots of legal paraphernalia before the farm became officially mine, and since that time my team and I have been working diligently toward our goals, and towards making Llewella’s dream come to fruition.
Llewella always believed that God had given her the task of protecting her home, a magical property which holds an unbelievable power, and which is undoubtedly a place where God speaks to the wonder and beauty of our world. An extremely spiritual place, Llewella believed that God meant for her beloved land to be used for something more, something special. Deeply spiritual herself, knowing the words of the bible by heart, and having a deep belief in God, Llewella had sent out many prayers through the long and lonely years she was by herself, asking God to show her what she should do, how she could somehow help turn this home of hers into a place of healing. A place of healing for people and of healing for animals; and everyone who knew Llewella at all knew that this was her dream.

Llewella’s parents died when she was just a young woman, and since 1938 she lived on her own, tending the animals, haying, harvesting and trying her best to keep the farm alive. First as a school teacher, then as a veterinarian’s aid, working nights at her paying job, spending the daylight hours on the farm, somehow she survived.
When she met me, Llewella felt that God had finally answered her prayers, and no matter how many times I tried to tell her that I didn’t want the farm, this stubborn old Vermonter began scheming to make things happen. She believed I was an angel; an earth angel; but she was very careful not to mention this belief to me, as she knew I would immediately deny any such thing.
Before she died, I made a promise to Llewella that I would try to build a healing foundation. Knowing that she had lived on her own for most of her life under the direst of circumstances, and in the most unbelievably dreadful conditions which would have destroyed many, I knew that here was a woman who was living her faith…and never once failing in that. I was profoundly influenced by her; her courage, tenacity, strength and love of God was overwhelming to me. I had never met anyone like her, and almost from the beginning, she had me eating out of her hand.

Llewella’s dream has now become the dream of many. A place of healing, set in the heart of the Vermont Mountains; where the spectacular views and incredible healing energy will take your breath away; and bring tears to your eyes. This is the first impression that most people have when they arrive. Add to that our team, a group of healers who share the dream of our benefactor, and who have given their time and energy to try to make Llewella’s dream come true.
It is not easy, nor has it ever been, to begin something new, and it takes time, effort and money. It takes volunteers, dedication, hard work, and of course, in our case, as healers, it takes patience….and patients. Otherwise, what would be the point?
Our foundation has two goals. The first is to provide healing for any who seek it, free of charge. This is what our foundation is about, and the reason we exist. People and animals come to us from all over the world, and we send healing through our prayers and energy to those who cannot physically come to visit us in Vermont or in England. Healing comes in many ways, and we know that education in this field is a must, which is why we are developing programs designed specifically to reach not only the sick and dying, but to a much wider arena of people. For more information about those programs…click here.
The foundation’s second goal is education, and we already offer limited classes to those wanting to learn the art of healing. Our aim for the future is to develop workshops and lectures on a regular weekly or monthly basis, providing a platform for speakers and teachers in the spiritual field, and in the alternative and complimentary field of medicine.
I am not under any illusions as to the time, effort and expense that are necessary to achieve success in such a project. But a promise is a promise. And I made Llewella a promise that I would try!
No one person can do this on their own, and we need all the volunteers and all the help we can get. If you would like to join us in our efforts, let me assure you that we would like to welcome you on board. There is a lot of work to be done, a lot still to learn, and a promise of great fun in the trying.
We are not alone. This knowledge is what has enabled me to keep on going. There is a whole team in the spirit world who are just as excited as we are about our foundation and its work. And with the blessing of God, we will do our very best to continue, to fight the good fight…and to win.
